Danbury wins Disney Duals DANBURY, Jan. 5 -- Danbury went 7-0 in Florida at the Disney Duals in Orlando, winning the championship match with a 52-13 win over Catasaqua, Pa. The Hatters participated in the 12-team tournament that was split up into two pools of six teams each. Danbury swept its pool with four wins to earn the top seed from its pool in the championship bracket. Danbury (11-1) beat St. Cloud, Fla., the defending Florida large school (3A) champion, in its first round match, 42-25 and beat Lakeland, Fla., currently ranked in the top 20 in Florida by a 54-16 score in the semifinals. Killingly, Xavier look sharp HARTFORD, Jan. 5 -- Killingly won three matches to move to the top of the ECC Saturday. ... Xavier swept three matches to improve to 8-1 and 5-0 in SCC. ... Danbury wins Disney Duals DANBURY, Jan. 5 -- Danbury went 7-0 in Florida at the Disney Duals in Orlando, winning the championship match with a 52-13 win over Catasaqua, Pa. The Hatters participated in the 12-team tournament that was split up into two pools of six teams each. Danbury swept its pool with four wins to earn the top seed from its pool in the championship bracket. Danbury (11-1) beat St. Cloud, Fla., the defending Florida large school (3A) champion, in its first round match, 42-25 and beat Lakeland, Fla., currently ranked in the top 20 in Florida by a 54-16 score in the semifinals.
